Tiny restaurant in front of seafood store. Waitperson was delightful, patient and helpful. Food was very good: especially the fresh fish perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sides were nothing special; likewise the desserts. Prices very good. Was our first visit and I am looking forward to returning. Is a BYOB which is also nice.

5 stars for food and service. Maybe 3 1/2 stars for value on the Fried seafood platter... but even though the platter was a little expensive for the amount of food, it was *excellent*. Calamari with Fra Diavolo sauce was super. Tender, fresh, seasoned and the sauce was actually spicy. Portion on calamari was very nice. Fried seafood platter was absolutely delicious, just a little weak on the quantity. 2 stellar, giant shrimp, 1 amazing scallop and 2 very small pieces of very tasty breaded fried fish fish (breaded not battered). Every thing we ate was fantastic (literally everything - even the slaw was fresh and delicious). Just wish there was a little more of the seafood platter. Service was friendly and very prompt at lunch. We will definitely be back here.

Four of us had an outstanding seafood dinner. Oysters on the half-shell were exquisite. Delicious lobster roll. Excellent coconut prawns, crab cakes & Cajun-style red snapper. Great coleslaw and best fries I've had in ages. All at an extremely reasonable price, too. This place is a real keeper.

The seafood here was excellent. Everything was fresh. The owner/chef comes around to each table to make sure everything is perfect with his guests. Very good seafood pasta dishes better than many Italian restaurants in the area.

Was going to visit the place next door, but I saw this place and the packed tables so I went in. Boy was I glad! It's a fish market turned restaurant, full of locals who love seafood. It's similar concept to the place in Maywood. BYOB, white table cloth (nice), with a casual feel. Food was well done, and flavorful. I always know by the way kitchen does their whole fish if you they are any good. The Bronzino I got was crisped to near perfect whole skin goodness. Juicy throughout and fresh enough to taste the good waters of Greece (Anthony explained that this was the one fish he gets imported). Just delightful. Next time, have chopsticks ready Anthony (it's easier to eat fish with chopsticks). The side of broccoli rabe was well done. We also got mixed seafood grill which was very tasty. Grilled octopus appetizer was nice. For two of us, we could have ordered less. Lots of food. It's a good comfy neighborhood seafood place that serves great seafood near nyc quality. Prices were reasonable for what we got. We will be back. Support your local businesses!

We were looking for a new restaurant for dinner this past Saturday and stumbled upon Caldwell seafood market. Was a good choice. Friendly staff n a small gem on Bloomfield Ave. we had the bang bang shrimp and beets and buratta as appetizer. Shrimp was tasty n the beets n buratta had greens, strawberry, mango n a tasty dressing. For entrees we had the pan roasted grouper special in special sauce w mashed potatoes n julienned vegs and red snapper. Both were delicious. Generous Portions n had leftovers to bring home. To top it off we shared a chocolate hazelnut mousse which was to die for. Will certainly stop by another time. R Thank u Caldwell seafood market for a great dinner.
